Privacy Policy
Effective July 31, 2026
This policy explains how the Behance Video Downloader Chrome extension handles information.
Information handled by the extension
- Behance page and media data. The extension reads public page structure, project titles, project URLs, and supported media information on www.behance.net so it can show the download control and locate the video you select. When a public Vimeo player is present, the extension reads its public configuration through player.vimeo.com and the associated Vimeo CDN.
- Local media processing. Supported Vimeo audio and video streams can be remuxed into an MP4 entirely inside Chrome. The selected media is not uploaded to our payment backend.
- Local extension data. Chrome local storage keeps the local calendar day and successful-download count, a randomly generated product-specific identifier beginning with
bvd_, and a short-lived membership status cache. - Membership checks. The extension sends the opaque
bvd_identifier to our backend to check whether Pro access is active. It does not send your Behance browsing history, selected media, filenames, or Behance login credentials. - Restore Purchase. If you choose Restore Purchase, the checkout email you enter is sent to our backend to find the matching Behance Video Downloader purchase. The extension does not save that email in Chrome storage.
- Payments. Paddle processes checkout and payment information under its own privacy policy. The extension does not receive or store full payment-card details.
How information is used
We use the information above only to provide user-requested downloads, enforce the five successful downloads available each local calendar day, confirm Pro membership, restore a purchase, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and maintain the payment service.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or run analytics in the extension. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate the product, including Paddle for checkout and billing and Cloudflare for hosting and security. Those providers may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, according to their own policies and our service configuration.
Retention
Local extension data remains in Chrome until you clear the extension's storage or remove the extension. Purchase, membership, refund, and support records are retained only as reasonably necessary to provide access, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet accounting or legal obligations.
Your choices
You can stop all extension processing by disabling or removing the extension. You can clear local extension data through Chrome. To ask about, correct, or delete information associated with a restored purchase or support request, email us. Some billing records may need to be retained where required by law.
Permissions
The extension uses Chrome's downloads permission to save the video you select, offscreen to remux supported public video locally, and storage to keep the local allowance and membership state. Host access to Behance finds supported projects and adds the download control. Host access to Vimeo reads public player information and downloads selected public media streams. Host access to sheetrules.xyz provides checkout, membership verification, and purchase restoration.
Children
Behance Video Downloader is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the extension or its service providers change. We will update the effective date on this page when changes are published.
